How to reach

Best Time to Visit

Except monsoons when things become slippery and difficult, Joshimath can be visited all year long. Many flowers bloom only in winters and hence it would be the best period for nature watching. Summer season is favoured by everyone from plains.

Thanks to its altitude Joshimath enjoys cool weather all round the year. Tourists intending to stay or roam here need bring heavy woolens as the temperature may dip anytime of the day. The monsoon period sees the heaviest of the rainfalls sending the temperatures tumbling down thereafter. Winters are extremely chilly with temperatures touching the freezing point. Snowfall can be expected in winters, which mostly blocks the entry and exit points.

The months October to November and April to June are best months.
