Didihat

Didihat is a small town perched at an altitude of 1,725 m, in the Pithoragarh district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Didihat has a history that can be traced back to earlier than the fourteenth century. The sixteenth century saw the transfer of power over the region to the Chand dynasty, and the area flourished in the following centuries, monuments in evidence of which can still be found in some parts of the town, though not in the best of conditions. Didihat is located on top of a plain known as Digtarh, around which the river Charamgad forms a necklace.
