Champawat is the District of State Uttarakhand rich in Heritage and Culture was once the capital of Chand rulers.Champawati is considered the place where Kurmavtar or the turtlr incarnation of Lord Vishno took birth and is also regarded as the Home of the Himalayan Tiger.Champawat is famous for its natural beauty and historical Temples in India. Champawat is covered by 65% of forest hence is rich in flora and fauna.Important attractions are Baleshwar Temple and Nagnath Temple.

Champawat can be visited all year round.Though situated at a height, the lower temperatures rarely go down below 4 degrees. The climate is pleasant and offers ample reasons for touring. Rainy season can be avoided but honeymooners love the misty atmosphere and keep thronging this place.

Champawat is a uniquely pleasant hill station and can be visited all round the year except the monsoons. It has your ideal tourist destination weather all round the year, with a pleasant summer, and a soft winter, with temperatures seldom dipping below 4 degrees. The monsoons season usually has a very heavy downpour.

Summers
The months April, May and June form the summer months here in Champawat. The summers are not too hot and just right, varying comfortably from a minimum of 20 degrees to a maximum of 30 degrees. Even the nights are very comfortable to roam around in full sleeves and there is no need for any light woolens.

Monsoons
The rainy season sets in July and lasts till September end. The overall opinion from travelers is to avoid this season as Champawat has one of the heaviest downpours during the season and it is very difficult to roam around. The temperatures fluctuate between 15 and 10 degrees and the nights tend to get a bit nippy. Most romantic couples and those who love rains make it a point to arrive here well in time. They bring the necessary clothing including raincoats and umbrellas and make the most to walk in the clouds and enjoy the togetherness the chill brings. For these couples, the monsoon season is just what the doctor ordered and they make use it to their fullest.

Winters
Winters are not harsh here and if you’re travelling to Champawat in winter, you may want to carry light woolens, since the temperatures hit a maximum of 15 degrees and afternoons are sunny and warm, but the nights tend to get just a bit nippy. Even those who dread winters can arrive here and take full benefit of comfortable temperatures.
