How to Reach

Munnar doesn’t have a railhead. The only closest railway station is Kochi and Ernakulam. There are regular flow of trains from Delhi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Mangalore and Bangalore.The most convenient ways to reach Munnar’s fabulous tea bushes is to hire a cab from Kochi. Cab service is also available from Kottayam (5 hours of journey), Madurai (6 hours of journey), Coimbatore (6 hours of journey), or Thiruvananthapuram (9 hours of journey). Private luxury coaches and state-run buses are also available. The nearest railway station is at Kochi and Ernakulam. The junction at Ernakulam is the key junction. The Cochin (Kochi) International Airport is cuddled in Nedumbassery, with two active terminals, one for international and domestic operations. The airport high inflow passengers from the globe, and served by prominent air carriers such as Air India, Jet Airways, Emirates, Air Asia, Etihad Airlines and Qatar Airways.

Onam It is the principal festival eminent and celebrated with rich fervor in Munnar. This festival marks ten days of singing, dancing, and feasting. There are also religious ceremonies that complement the celebration. Adding to whole of extravaganza are the snake boat races organized by involvement from local management, at several places on the palm-fringed lagoons.

Munnar is best known for tea, coffee and spices. There are several shops spread around the hill station selling these stuffs at affordable prices.
