Kodanad

Kodanad is the fantabulous hill station set in verdant surroundings and located on the Southern banks of Periyar River nestled in beautiful high ranges near Perumbavoor. The hill station has grown as biggest elephant training centers in Kerala. In the earlier days, elephants seized from the Malayatoor forests (the forests located on the East and North of Kodanad) were trained here. However, after imposing the ban on elephant capture Kodanad is only working as training center.The best time to visit is from September through May.
