Pahalgam

Situated 7200 feet above the sea level on the banks of Lidder River, Pahalgam is 45 kms away from the Anantnag District headquarters. Pahalgam is instantly connected with the Amarnath Yatra. Approximately 16 kms from Pahalgam, at Chadanwari, pilgrims going for Amarnath Yatra start their trek. The Yatra is happens mostly during the months of July and August, and thus Pahalgam is extremely busy during that time. Situated at the junction of Aru and Sheshnag rivers, Pahalgam is the most beautiful place in Kashmir after Srinagar. Tourists can enjoy trekking through Pahalgam with having the view of breath taking natural beauty around. The best time to visit Pahalgam is during the months of Mid-April to Mid-November.
