Home of Tibetan Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama, it is a beautiful town near upper Dharamsala. Standing tall at 2,082 meters it is a hill station which boasts of not being so crowded as Shimla but offers many similar vistas. Also known as little Lhasa, Mcleodganj has one of the most mesmerizing landscapes in the entire state of Himachal Pradesh and attracts a lot of tourists throughout the year.

The nearby towns of Dharamsala and Kangra are situated very close to each other and a must visit while travelling here. Few of the most eminent and religiously significant monasteries in India are located here, including the Namgyal Monastery & Tsuglagkhang, where the spiritual leader Dalai Lama resides. Tourists must also visit the scenic Naddi Point, Bhagsu Falls, Dal Lake and Triund, which are apt for quiet picnics.

The Dharamkot Trek is one of the most famous treks done here and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains capped with snow. The top is famous for camping and you can also stay there for the night, there are people who organize camps for the night stay. The pin drop silence at night, the twinkling stars and total darkness is an experience one should not miss.
