Nubra valley lies at a bit low altitude than Leh yet accessibility is difficult at times. From April to June the sun shines brightly and the day temperatures are quite warm and the next two months, July and August get usual rainfall, cutting off the accessibility. Similarly November to February it snows heavily forcing authorities to block access to popular high altitude spots like the Khardungla Pass.
It can be said that Nubra valley is open to tourists only from April to June and September to October that is five months in a year. The tourists can take a calculated risk and try their luck in the rainy season as rains are never guaranteed. But we recommend them to carry heavy woolens because the local weather can anytime take a U-Turn and from hot & humid
